 Red Fort

The Red Fort was built by Akbar, the Mughal emperor. It was completed by four Mughal emperors within ninety-five years. Akbar Jahangir Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb.

Red Fort located in the city of Uttar Pradesh is one of the most magnificent buildings built by the Mauglos, it is said that this fort was earlier known as Badal Garh Fort only made of bricks. Before the Mughal rule, Mohammad Gaznavi, Sikandar Lodi, Ibrahim Lodi and Hemu also used to be secluded, but by that time this fort had been transformed into ruins, when the Mughal emperor Akbar came here in 1558.

 Red Fort Agra Built

he saw the importance of this place. Decided to build his fort and capital here. The construction of Red Fort Agra was started by Akbar in 1565, and it was completed in eight years i.e. by 1573.

Aurangzeb got the expansion and renovation work of this Red Fort Agra done for the next ninety-five years and in 1660, it finally got a which form that you can see today, it is said that at that time it was built for ₹ 35,00,000 with the help of some 4000 artisans.

Red Fort

Spread over a vast area of 2.50 km, 75% of the area of this fort is under the Indian Army, which used to be under the Mughal Army during the Mughal period and under the British Army during the British time.

Red Fort Built in both Muslim and Hindu styles, how beautiful carvings have been done in this special palace built here for Shah Jahan and Mumtaj, you will be surprised to see that in the era there were gold and many types of precious gems on the walls here.

And when spices were burnt here, this entire palace was illuminated with colorful lights and the view here used to be worth seeing, for the protection of the Red Fort 70 feet high walls and security trenches have been built around it.

Red Fort

In which crocodiles, alligators and wild animals were left, no matter who crossed this tight security, the emperor’s army used to kill the enemy by dropping stone balls from this ramp. That such arrangements were made to keep the palace cool and you will be surprised to know about it,

That’s how skilled they were for that era. not only this, but the drainage system made here and the technology to play these files here is also so amazing that you will be forced to think How efficient were the buildings built in this Red Fort,

but even today, the royalty is reflected in buses, whether it is made for meetings with special people, this crazy was made to listen to the general public, these crazy were made for Shah Jahan’s daughters. Or the Meena Bazaar, which once graced this ground,

Red Fort

here you will get to see one Surat palace and the beautiful artwork done in them which are not fully visible in their original form because some of them were destroyed by the British. Some of them were destroyed by the British and some of them were captured by our local tourist in this Red Fort Agra by Aurangzeb from Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj fraudulently called to Agra and kept them captive for three months.

The most surprising thing related to the history of this Red Fort is that Aurangzeb had also kept his father Shah Jahan under house arrest in this fort for 8 years and why he did so, I will tell you in detail in this video.

The first gate of this Red Fort Agra is Amar Singh, which was built by Shah Jahan happy with the bravery of his commander Amar Singh because he won Shah Jahan many battles. This is the water moat in which crocodiles and alligators were left so that no enemy could enter this fort if they somehow crossed it.

Two walls have been built for safety, out of which the height of the outer wall is 40 feet, and the height of the differential wall is 70 feet.

So that the enemy could not climb the wall of the Red Fort at any cost, this is the second door of this fort, which is called Naubatkhana i.e. Drum House, when the emperor used to enter the Red Fort, he used to play drums here to welcome him.

And then the maids used to dance in the gallery built above and different types of flowers were showered on the emperor from the window built above, this gate is called Akbari gate and above it you are seeing beautiful work.

And then the maids used to dance in the galleries built above and different types of flowers were showered on the emperor from the window built above, this gate is called Akbari gate and above it you are seeing beautiful work.

The beautiful work that has been done on top of this gate is called mosaic work. In which different types of thin tiles were added and applied on the walls. In this Red Fort, whatever work has been done with white marble It was built during the time of Aurangzeb and Shah Jahan.

And whatever work was done with red sandstone It dates back to the time of Akbar and Jahangir. The rooms you see here are now used as government offices, but in the Mughal period, they used to be horse sites, the cuttings you see on the ground here are not designs, but they are speed breakers of that era.

So that when elephants and horses climb or come down here, their feet do not slip, if you stand here and clap, you will hear the echo sound. Because both of these walls are hollow, the reason for making them hollow was that if the enemy somehow reached here by crossing all the doors, then the emperor’s army would be alerted by the sound of their horses’ feet.

In such a situation, large stone shells were thrown from above to attack the enemy, if the enemy tried to support the walls, hot oil was dropped from one side and hot water from the other side. That he slips and falls and dies under the stone balls. This gate is called the Elephant and from here we will come out of this fort.

Take here to the right which you will see the wall. Take here to the right which you will see the wall where there used to be Akbari Mahal. In 1761, when the Jat king Surajmal of India invaded here, he demolished this entire palace, the place you see above used to stand and protect the fort. In the place you are seeing, Mughal soldiers used to stand and protect the fort and in the event of war, they used to shoot arrows, spears, etc. on the enemies from there.

 Jahangir’s bathtub in Red Fort

means, which was gifted to him by his maternal uncle on his first birthday, is made in a single piece. And there is no joint in this, three stairs are given outside, and three stairs are given on the inside to climb and descend. When Jahangir was young, his maids used to bathe in it.

Jahangir's bathtub

With the help of satire, they used to go inside and take a bath, this thing was kept in Akbari Mahal earlier, but the government kept it here later to show it to the tourists.

Rajasthani architecture has been used to build this gate, which is called Jahangir Mahal, which Akbar built for his son Jahangir, after entering this gate, these wooden doors you will see are not of the Mughal period. Rather they were installed during the time of the British, in the Mughal period there were no doors here, but courtiers stood here. As soon as the emperor entered, he used to welcome him by showering Dasia flowers from the private form taken on both sides.

 Jehangir Mahal, in Red Fort

also known as Rang Mahal, is because in that era when any festival or program was organized here, dancers were called for the dancing program who used to dance here wearing colorful clothes.

 Jehangir Mahal, in Red Fort

They used to dance here, they used to sit in the school in the top part and in the lower part which you see the arch, their maids used to sit and enjoy the program here, this is the dining hall of that era where the emperor used to sit and eat food. The door you see here used to have a kitchen behind it where Jodha Bái used to cook with her own hands There are also stairs to go up here. But now they have been closed permanently.

This part of the palace is known as Jahangir’s bedroom, the lattices that you will see here have been given a gap of four feet behind them, in which a corridor has been made, the reason for making it was .There was no alarm, maids used to roam in this corridor, which used to get Jahangir up, Jahangir was very fond of studying and had knowledge of different languages, so this used to be his library at that time.

Because this building has been built for 450 years, you will see it in a very bad condition, during the Mughal period, precious stones and diamonds were installed on the walls here too. All those later I took the British There is an open courtyard in this part of the palace and you will see many jharogas here, behind which the cold winds of the river Yamuna flowing used to come here, so it can be seen as Jharokha Mahal.

In this Red Fort such a drainage system was built in that era which works completely today and during the rains, all the water goes out through these holes towards the Yamuna River.

This room used to be the fitter palace in front of that room and the rooms built here were used by the emperor and his family in the winter palace time during the Mughal period. This part of the fort is called Summer Paris, which was also known as Hawa Mahal and Shahjahani Palace at that time,

it has three rooms and these Arch Nauma markets have been built beautifully, its roof has been designed in diamond shape. In those days there were mirrors under which spices were run and when the light of the torch fell on the mirrors installed here, it would be illuminated with full light.

Here on both sides of this door, you will see that they have been made hollow, it is a double wall with a gap of two feet in between, in that era multani mitti gram dal, urad dal, jaggery and lime were used to make these walls.

There used to be a water tank on top of it, due to which water was filled in the gap between the walls, which was the reason that no matter how hot it is, the walls here are always cool. Curtains were put around here, so you must be thinking that then everyone used to come from where, so after walking a little further from here, we will see the wonder of the magic window here .

Because here if you go to the wall like this and talk, then you will hear everything very clearly on the wall in front

The magic window in Red Fort

The magic window appears closed to us from outside, but as soon as we go inside and try to throw something out, it comes out.

The magic window in Red Fort

In this part of the palace, you will see that all this Marvel work has been done which is from the time of Shah Jahan, Shah Jahan had 14 children, eight of whom died.

Eight had died and among the six who were left, four sons and two daughters were named Shah Jahan’s daughters, Roshnara and Jahanara, both sisters were not married, but Shah Jahan had palaces built for both of them

Roshanara mahal in Red Fort

In Roshanara, we have made it in the shape of a palanquin, I will see brass on it for the time being, but gold was planted here, in 1803, when the British attacked here, they melted all the gold from here.

They melted all the gold from here and even you have made this illuminated palace beautiful not only from outside but also from inside and a very beautiful bun has been made inside it.

Angoori Bagh in Red Fort

This garden that you are seeing is called Angoori Baat and here plants are planted according to the season but during the Mughal period, they used to remain here, for which red soil was imported from Kashmir.

Angoori Bagh in Red Fort

Jahangir was very fond of drinking wine, so the people growing here used to make wine for him, all the rooms you are seeing here, this is the area of the harem where Jahangir’s unofficial vice-president used to do.

fountain in Red Fort

To run the fountain that you are seeing at that time large water tanks of angle shape were built at a little height in the upwards, water was filled from above and they were closed with a rope from below.  Before the emperor or his special guests were going to come here, the rope was pulled and when the pressure came down, the fountains would move.

fountain in Red Fort

The tag of this fountain was completely filled, its water used to flow inside and reach that fountain tank built in the between and then it also used to move, and the atmosphere here became very pleasant.

Khash mahal in Red Fort

This is the bedroom of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal and hence it is named Khas Mahal its name has been named Khas mahal, here you will see a lot of paintings which will look ordinary but in the Mughal period, all these paintings used to be of gold.

Precious diamonds and gems were also planted here, it is said that when the sunlight fell here, this room was completely illuminated and the view used to be worth seeing that till the time this palace was taking its real form.

The real gold work done here will be seen as if you are seen on the roof here, in that era there was a chandelier in which a lamp was lit at night, so that this whole palace was illuminated with golden light.

Red sandstone lattice in Red Fort

This red sandstone mesh that you see used to be a ladies jail of that time, during the Mughal period, when any woman committed a crime, she was imprisoned here.

Sis mahal in Red Fort

Which used to be the royal Hamam of Mumtaz, and she used to be ready after bathing in a palace, you will see that there are small mirrors which were ordered from Syria, here when a candle was lit, it used to be so illuminated. It was as if thousands of candles were lit here.

In this palace, Shah Jahan arranged a bathtub, SP and massage for Mumtaz, local tourists used to take out glass from here, so the government closed.

  Jahanara palace in Red Fort

It is also built in the shape of a palanquin like the Roshanara Mahal and Surat artwork has been done inside it after the death of Mumtaz where Nara was the only one who left no stone unturned in taking care of Shah Jahan and stood by him till his death.

Jasmine Tower in Red Fort

Jasmine Tower is called because in it you will get to see the artwork of Jasmine flowers from place to place, you will see that this initiative has been permanently closed by the government by putting railings.

Because a lot of valuable open stores were set up in it, but local tourists used to take out the posts from here and take them with them, this palace Aurangzeb kept his father Shah Jahan under house arrest from 1658 to 1666.

Meena mosque in Red Fort

When Shah Jahan was under house arrest in Musamman Burj, he used to come to offer namaz in a mosque because Aurangzeb allowed him to come to this place.

Deewane-A- Khas in Red Fort

Here Shah Jahan used to hold meetings with his special people.

Meena Bazar in Red Fort

In that time, there was a market once a month in which merchants used to come here from outside and sell valuable things, but they did not come from the door through which we have come but from this door in front.

Meena Bazar in Red Fort

Because that door used to be only for the royal people, the emperor used to sit there and the queen used to sit right in front of him, all the doors you see here, this is not the door of Mughal time. If the doors were damaged, then these doors were installed here by the government, these rooms built here were used to keep documents at that time, that is,

all the secret documents of Deewane-e-Aam and Diwan-e-Khas were kept in the rooms, these are the holes in the stone. These are the holes in the stone that you see at that time I used to hang torches so that when Meena Bazaar was set up here at night, it could be well lit, here these rooms built below used to have mints where gold and silver pieces were made.

Nagina Mosque in Red Fort

Nagina Mosque, which was built by Shah Jahan in 1635 for the women of the harem, is called Nagina Masjid because it is built in the middle of this fort and enhances the beauty of this fort, it is called the ring of Nagina.

conclusion
